Ganheba Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Central Sichuan (Ya'an). The Ganheba Fm was named by Zhang Honggang in 1983, The type section is in the region of Maiyanglin-Ganheba, Dayi County and Huangshuihe, Changshiba, Lushan County, Sichuan Province. It is the lowermost formation in the Huangshuihe Gr.
Synonym: (干河坝组)
Lithology and Thickness
In the type section, the Ganheba Fm is dominated by grey-green, grey-purple metamorphosed basalt, andesite, intercalated with spilite, volcanic breccia, tuff and graphite schist, schist. The rocks in the lower part are mostly metamorphosed to actinolite schist and grey-purple tuffite. The thickness varies from 300 m to over 2000 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Bottom is not seen. It does not directly contact with Kangding Complex Gr.
Upper contact
The top is in conformable contact with overlying Huangtongjianzi Fm (lower Huangshuihe Gr).
Regional extent
Central Sichuan (Ya'an). The formation is distributed mainly in Dayi, Lushan, Baoxing and Pengxian counties, Sichuan Province.

Additional Information
